Flipping index
The flipping index (Ethereum vs Bitcoin) can be tracked through the corresponding service on the website blockchaincenter.net
What is flipping?
What do these indicators mean?
- Flippening index. The overall Flippening Index shows the average of all the Flippening indices listed below.
- Market capitalization. Market cap inversion shows the percentage of Ethereum's market cap relative to Bitcoin's market cap. Source: Coingecko
- Active addresses. Ethereum. - Number of transactions. The number of transactions shows the ratio of the total number of onchain transactions that occur on the network. (100% means Ethereum has overturned Bitcoin in this metric) source: Coinmetrics
- Transaction volume. The total amount of US dollars that is sent over the network. Please note that it only compares ETH transfers to BTC transfers. With tokens and Stablecoins, Ethereum transfers are much higher than 100%. Source: Coinmetrics

- Total commission amount. Per transaction, the total amount of fees paid to complete an online transaction, in US dollars. (100% means Ethereum has overturned Bitcoin in this metric) source: Coinmetrics

Cryptocurrency flipping index
The Flip-Flopping Index is an indicator that measures the likelihood that the second largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization (usually Ethereum) will surpass the first one (usually Bitcoin).
How the index works:
The index is calculated using a formula that takes into account various factors affecting the market capitalization of cryptocurrencies, such as:
- Market Cap Ratio: The index uses the ratio of Ethereum market cap to Bitcoin market cap.
- Trading Volumes: The index analyzes the trading volumes of both cryptocurrencies and determines how actively they are traded.
- Sen sentiment: The index takes into account users' sentiment towards both cryptocurrencies, based on social media, news analysis and other indicators.
- Current Events: The index can take into account events such as updates to the Ethereum protocol or the launch of new decentralized applications (DApps).
Index value:
- A high index indicates a high probability that Ethereum could overtake Bitcoin in market capitalization.
- The low index indicates that Bitcoin is likely to maintain its leadership.
It is important to understand that the flipping index is not an accurate forecast and should be used in conjunction with other indicators.
Additional notes:
- The flipping index is not always an accurate indicator, as the cryptocurrency market is very volatile and subject to many external factors.
- There is no single, generally accepted index of flipping. Different analysts may use different formulas and factors to calculate the index.
- The flipping index can be useful for investors who want to understand the growth potential of Ethereum.
In conclusion:
The flipping index is an interesting tool for analyzing the cryptocurrency market, but you should not rely on it alone when making investment decisions.
