Why circulating supply is important

The law of supply and demand, like any other asset, governs the value of cryptocurrencies. The value of a crypto coin is determined by the price at which people are willing to sell and buy it.

Circulating supply is supply in the law of supply and demand. If its indicator is high and demand is low, then prices for the corresponding coins will fall. If supply is low and demand is high, coin prices will rise.

The circulating offer should not be confused with the general offer or maximum offer. The total supply is the number of existing cryptocurrencies, that is, the number of coins issued without taking into account those burned.

The total supply is greater than the amount of the circulating supply of cryptocurrency and coins that are locked in escrow.

In turn, the maximum supply is the approximate maximum number of cryptocurrencies that will ever exist. This metric includes coins that will be mined in the future.

Protected coins, funds stored somewhere, or assets that are not ready to be exchanged on the open market are coins that cannot influence the prices of the corresponding cryptocurrencies. Therefore, they cannot influence market capitalization.
