Morgan Creek Capital's Chief Investment Officer talks about the five most promising altcoins for the new year.

In a new interview on the Altcoin Daily YouTube channel, Mark Yusko names his favorite tokens, including the famous smart contract platforms Solana (SOL) and Cardano (ADA).

Other digital assets mentioned by the executive include XRP, a digital asset associated with Ripple Labs, the Dogecoin meme asset (DOGE), and the Hedera layer 1 blockchain (HBAR).

“I have taken a liking to Solana, I must say. I mean the guys did a good job convincing me and, you know, luckily we didn't sell our last stake and it went from $13 to $240 or something, so that's not bad."

Yusko goes on to say that if he had "money to lose" he would bet on ADA, XRP and HBAR, as some companies in the world of traditional finance (TradFi) may end up moving into crypto assets to keep up from competitors.

“If I had money that I was willing to lose—because I think you could literally lose it—I would actually buy some [ADA, HBAR and XRP] because...

As for DOGE, Yusko says not owning the top meme token is a bet against billionaire Elon Musk.

“Don’t bet against Elon, of course. DOGE probably isn't the dumbest thing in the world. I thought it was pretty stupid to begin with, from $0 to $60 billion, so joke on me, I'm a fool myself, but I guess that's what it is anyway."
