Asset manager Volatility Shares has filed to launch a Solana futures ETF.
It is noteworthy that the fund intends to invest in contracts “that are traded only on a registered CFTC exchange”, although such a product or platform does not currently exist.
“[...] A good sign is that Solana futures are [coming] and there may be a good chance for spot,” said Bloomberg stock analyst Eric Balchunas.

Spot Solana ETFs
In 2024, with four filings to list the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) spot ETFs with the SEC, Solana reached an all-time high (ATH). Applications were submitted from the following companies:
- VanEck - VanEck Solana Trust
- 21Shares - 21Shares Core Solana ETF
- Canary Capital - Canary Solana Trust
- Bitwise - Bitwise Solana ETF
Earlier, VanEck noted the high chances of approval of the Solana-ETF by the end of 2025. On the back of this news, Solana's price exceeded the $264 level, reaching its ATH, but is trading at $195 at the time of writing.
